Death Summary: Zelda Rubinstein died at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles, California. She had recently spent the previous month at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where her family had chose to take her off life support, as she had kidney and lung failure.
Who was Zelda Rubinstein : Rubinstein was an actress and human rights activist, she is probably most known for her role of Tangina Barrons in the 1982 movie Poltergeist.
Some of Rubinstein’s other films included: Sixteen Candles, Cages, Teen Witch, The Wildcard, Southland Tales and National Lampoon's Last Resort.
Zelda Rubinstein stood only 4 feet 3 inches due to a deficiency in the anterior pituitary gland, which produces growth hormones. Rubinstein was a very outspoken activist for “little people”.

poltergeist was My Mom’s favorite movie
I didn’t know that she had passed away. Poltergeist was one of our favorite scary movie. She was a great star, and will be missed dearly. God bless her family in their time of loss.
