Tony, your stories have always been a joy for me to read, it is sad that there will be no more to read from you. May your Relations Welcome You with Happy Hearts and Open Arms. Pilamaya Yelo.
I loved Tony Hillerman, Joe Leaphorn, Jim Chee and all their friends and family. Leaphorn and Chee were absolutely real to me. When I read these books I felt like I was with friends. We will never know the fates of Leaphorn and Chee, but I am rereading all their stories. I will probably do it again and again. I thinK Hillerman left no chindi behind. It is obvious that he was a very good man.
My father and I will miss you. Some of my favorite memories is being on the road with him listen to all of these stories.
RIP
~Sissy~
Love what u did for the Navajo culture I’ll miss you
In the past few months I have devoured all of the books in our local library that I could find by Mr. Hillerman. I really loved these stories and the characters in them. I discovered that Mr. Hillerman had passed away several years ago, and I was devastated when I realized there would be no more Leaphorn or Chee stories. I came to his stories late, but I’m glad I had a chance to read them. I know that no one could write these stories like he did, but I sure wish someone would try.
