He acquired the Blue Jays back on September 1, 2000 when his company purchased 80% of the club with the Labatt Brewing Company Ltd.
Since the 2003 season Rogers has owned 100% of the team, and renamed the ballpark from SkyDome to the Rogers Centre.
Rogers was the fourth richest person in Canada at the time of this death.
