In 1975, Barney Miller was aired on ABC. The show was known for a list of eccentric characters, with Landerberg playing Dietrich. The character had a vast wealth of knowledge, and knew the most obscure facts.
After Barney Miller, Landesberg enjoyed a long running career which saw performances on TV shows such as, The Rockford Files, Cosby, Law and Order, and The Golden Girls.
Most recently, Landesberg appeared in the hit comdey Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
His official cause of death hasn't been announced yet, but he is survived by wife Nancy, and their daughter.
