He did some solo stuff first but joined Power Station in 1985. He also recorded his breakthrough album in Riptide in '85, and his success took off.

I went to a local concert tonight and was reminded of how much I enjoyed Robert’s music when the band played several of his songs including ” simply irresistible ” It has made me miss him and his music all over again. (God Bless You Robert)

8-7-09 i was looking in a pawn shop for the song mercy mercy me and the employee said thats my favorite singer and then mentioned robert died to soon and i didnt know that he died and i became sad so it became new to me and now ever since i listin to mercy mercy me all the time id thought hed live for a long time when he was alive but he did sing mercy me way better than marvin gay im only 35 and know that robert was totally cool 509 619 3497 my phone

I was too young at the time to have his poster on my wall but I always admired his voice and his talent. we lost Robert way too young and way too early.

As always the Brits knew how to turn out polished performances…my husband and I were listening to “addicted”on the car radio, and when I remarked how sad it was Robert was dead he was shocked. I wonder how many others are not aware of this. He was a great performer…..miss him.
