Ritchie Valens
Born: 1941-05-13 - Died: 1959-02-03Cause of Death: Plane Crash
Death Summary: "The Day the Music Died", as Don McLean would call it was the day that Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and the Big Bopper (along with the plane's pilot) went down in a fatal plane crash.
It was determined that they all died on impact, and the cause of the crash was chalked up to "pilot error", although it was snowing when the plane took off.
Valens is buried in San Fernando Mission Cemetery in California. This is the same cemetery that Bob Hope is buried in.
Who was Ritchie Valens : Ritchie Valens (born Richard Steven Valenzuela) is considered to have pioneered the Chicano rock movement, and Spanish speaking rock n roll.
He had a short career due to his untimely death, but he managed to have a few hits within that time. Those included of course La Bamba, which was the title of the movie about Valens that starred Lou Diamond Philipps.

Ritchie,
You were just getting started. You were only seventeen when you died. That is such a big tragedy. You never got the chance to show us and the world your incredible talent. God took you away way too soon. May your legacy never die. May your beautiful soul rest in peace. God bless you and your family.-Ishwarya aka Ishwari
