Who was Richard Wright : Wright was a self-taught keyboardist and pianist, but will forever be remembered for his long career with Pink Floyd.
His multilayered, often called richly textured, sound was a vital ingredient in the distinctive sound that was Pink Floyd. Though he was not known for his songwriting ability like his band mates Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and David Gilmour… but he did write significant portions of Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Meddle.
Occasionally Wright would sing, mainly background, but his vocals can be heard on Time and Echoes.

Pink Floyd is the greatest rock band ever
You are the reason I started learning how to play the piano. That you for all the music that you played you taught me alot and I have passed it on to my 12 yr. old son.

I didn’t even know he was sick, until about a week after he was dead. So when I read about it, I got out all my Floyd and related recordings, and had my own little private wake.
Been listening to them since I was a kid, and haven’t tired of any of it yet.

The world is a sadder place without the talents and presence of Richard. Pink Floyd is different now without him. Rest in Peace Richard. We have volumes of your work to remind us of your contribution to humanity and human values and hopes.
Am a 46 yr old Floyd fan saddened by Richards passing
He wasn’t very good and The Beatles were a lot better anyway. Glad he’s dead!
