He attended the University of Southern California on a scholarship, studying theatre. After he graduated he landed the role of Dr. Marcus Hunter on Days of Our Lives, a character he would play from 1987 – 1992.
Two years later Biggs got the role of Dr. Stephen Franklin on the science fiction series Babylon 5, he would play that character from 1994 – 1998.

I was in shock when I found out today of the passing of a great talent. Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Biggs, but I enjoyed watching him on both Days and B5. He will be missed by those who knew him. My prayers are with his family.
Passed “beyond the rim” but you will be remembered and loved by all those who’s lives you have touched.

It’s Hard to believe that it’s been 7 years now. when you left us. where has the time gone to. I still think of that converastion day up in london were we meet in 2002. then hearing about the bad news that you died. I was watching Babylon 5 today and thought about how well you played Dr. Franklin as the moral compass for the other characters. Then I remembered you’d passed and felt a wave of sadness for a great actor taken too early. Wherever you are, know that you are missed by your fans as well as your family.
Richard you and Andreas will truly be missed. Your character on Babylon5 displayed humanity and frailty like no other. I never got the chance to work with you as my B5 work was post series in the RPG side. I wish your family all my best.
