Death Summary: Proof was 32 when he shot a U.S. military veteran named Keith Bender Jr. in the face, killing him.
Bender's cousin, Mario Etheridge who was a bouncer at the club where it happened, in turn shot Proof in the head killing him.
This all happened at the CCC Club on the famous 8 mile Road in Detroit that D-12, Proof's rap group (with the help of rapper Eminem) had made famous.
Proof was the second member of D-12 to get shot. The first was "Bugz" who was shot over an argument about a watergun fight at a picnic.
Who was Proof : DeShaun Dupree Holton (aka Proof) was a member of the rap group D-12 (Dirty Dozen), which was made famous by rapper Eminem.
He also had some solo work, but he is best-known for his D-12 membership, whose greatest hit was the song Purple Pill (retitled Purple Hills for the radio).
He also appeared in movies like 8 Mile and The Wash.
