Who was Peter Graves : Peter Graves was an actor who's generally known for two performances; Jim Phelps on the hit TV show Mission Impossible, and Captain Oveur from the spoof Airplane.
Grave's big break came from a TV show called 'Fury'. He starred as Jim Newton, and it lasted 116 episodes. His performances in the 60's would eventually culminate into his role on Mission Impossible. As Jim Phelps, Graves was the anchor of the show which brought the sleek spy genre to the small screen.
Grave's would continue to work going into the 70's, but his second breakout role came by way of Captain Oveur in Airplane. The aloof, creepy airplane captain is considered the comedic highlight of the movie by some. Spawning classic comedic one-liners.
Later in his career, Graves turned to voice acting. His final two credited roles are from the video games Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust and Darkstar.
