Death Summary: Several months before his demise, Paul Newman was diagnosed with the lung cancer that claimed his life at the age of 83, althogh his "Newman's Own" partner A.E. Hotchner had allegedly said Newman told him of the disease as much as 18 months earlier. Newman underwent chemotherapy and finished that in August.
Newman, a former chain smoker, reportedly told his family that he wished to pass away in his home, which he eventually did on September 26, 2008. Him home was in Westport, Connecticut, and he passed away with his family and closest friends by his side.

This loving & beautiful man was old enough to be my grandfather, but for as long as I can remember he was THE biggest star crush I’ve ever had, or will. Paul Newman was an American icon that will be greatly missed by those who understood him and admired him. One of the last of the great persons of that generation. America needs more men like him.
