Nora O’Brien

Death Summary: On April 29, 2009 Nora O'Brien suffered a brain aneurysm on the set of "Parenthood", a new TV series in development for NBC.
The cast and crew were taking a break from shooting and decided to play some basketball. In the middle of the game O'Brien said she felt dizzy and then collapsed. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was 44.
Who was Nora O’Brien : O'Brien was a television executive in charge of drama programming for NBC Universal.
Prior to her work in drama programming, O'Brien had spent six years at the Sci Fi Channel, where she worked on shows such as Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis and The Lost Room.
Mark Stern, executive vice president for original programming at the Sci Fi cable channel, was quote as saying "She was talented, smart and insightful ... She had great integrity, not only about her work but also in how she approached life. She stuck up for people no matter what; she didn't play politics. She was really sincere, and that's rare in our business."
Even though O'Brien resided in Santa Monica, California, she was a native of West Hartford, Connecticut.

Ms O’Brien, you were a rare commodity in Hollywood. Your life was entirely too short and we can only hope there will be others to follow in your footsteps who will protect their cast and crew to the level you did…RIP

We just saw the Parenthood tonight and what a wonderful real life/family parent show with all the children going different faucets of their lives. Really touched our family was when they told Max has a condition. We have a daughter, Emilie has Down Syndrome and they need every family support. It was so touching when Max said “is there a game today” and every family rallied behind Max and jot his second hit. Ms. O’Brien, may your spirit (and family) know that Parenthood is a tremendous program of which my family and I greatly appreciated and are impressed by the quality acting, rich storyline, and overall excellence of this new and completely engaging drama, comedy, human journey at its best.
