Death Summary: Munetaka Higuchi was diagnosed with Hepatocellular carcinoma, a type of liver cancer, on April 14, 2008. On November 30, 2008 Munetaka died from his illness. He was 49 years old.

Who was Munetaka Higuchi : Higuchi was the drummer for Japanese heavy metal band, Loudness.

From an early age Higuchi was considered an enormous talent. During his high school years he played in a total of seven bands, but wasn't satisfied with this. He wanted to focus all of his time and love of music on one band.

Higuchi formed the band Lazy with future Loudness bandmate, Akira Takasaki. Soon after their taste in music would take a turn for the more hard rock and heavy metal route, thus forming the band Loudness in 1981.

In addition to being in Loudness, Higuchi also had a semi-successful solo career.
