Who was Mindy McCready : Mindy McCready was an American country singer who hit the charts in 1996 with Ten Thousand Angels. After an abusive relationship sent her ex-boyfriend to jail for attempted murder, McCready suffered an addiction to drugs and alcohol that spiraled out of control. After arrests for faux prescriptions and alleged identity theft, McCready did a stint on "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew", but she continued to battle her addictions up to her death. One month after the alleged suicide of her boyfriend--and the father of her infant son--McCready shot herself.
