Who was Michael Gough : Michael Gough was a famous actor who performed for over sixty years. He's accredited with 178 performances on IMDB. His most famous roles coming from the four Batman movies released in the 90's, where he played Alfred, Batman's butler.

Gough was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His film debut came in 1948, with the title ' Blanche Fury. He would take advantage of the role and have a long line of appearances in british television. He guest starred on the long running show, Doctor Who. He played a villain by the name of 'The Celestial Toymaker'. He played a famous villain in the show, The Avengers, Dr. Armstrong.

During the 60's, Gough obtained cult status with fans as he appeared in many horror movies during the decade. It wouldn't be until the 80's before he appeared in more popular releases. In 1985, he played Lord Delamere in Out of Africa.

In 1989, Gough received the biggest role of his career as Alfred Pennyworth in the Batman (1989) movie. He would reprise the role for every Batman movie that released in the 90's. Gough would continue to work with Tim Buron as well, appearing in Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, and his final performance in the Alice in Wonderland continuation.

Gough is survived by his fourth wife, Henrietta.
