My father spent his entire life living and loving everything about entertaining. He learned early in his life how one person’s gift could make others forget their troubles and laugh. He was a true artist who had mastered his craft. He appeared on many National television programs such as The Today Show, The Mike Douglas Show, Merv Griffin and To Tell the Truth to name a few. He put clown make-up on the likes Ed Sullivan and even appeared with Regis Philbin, in Philbin’s early years of television.
My grandfather was a true legend. He touched the lives of so many people throughout his life. Entertaining was his life and he enjoyed what he did. Aside from being CoCo The Clown, he was a wonderful grandfather and kept those around him smiling and laughing with stories of his life experieces. He is so loved and will be greatly missed.
This is a sad news that has been felt here in Belarus. I never had the pleasure to meet COCO, but he trained and worked side by side to my mentors Leon “Buttons” McBryde and Jim Howle. What a sad day it is for all who work and love the art form of clowning. On behalf of The Belorussian State National Circus in Minsk Belarus, our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the entire family, friends and all who had the pleasure to meet, learn and call him a friend.
With deepest sympathy,
Miguel Angel Juan & The Belorussian State National Circus
