Death Summary: Griffin was first treated for prostate cancer back in 1996, but the cancer returned and took his life 11 years later.

There was speculation that Griffin was homosexual based on sexual harassment lawsuits he was involved with, but this was not confirmed until immediately after his death.

His funeral was attended by Nancy Reagan (wife of the late Ronald Regan), Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife Maria Shriver, Pat Sajak, Alex Trebek, Vanna White, and Dick Van Dyke.

He was buried in a mausoleum in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.
