Death Summary: Lou Albano died from natural causes under hospice care on October 14, 2009. He was 76.

He is survived by his wife, four children and 14 grandchildren.

Who was Lou Albano : Albano was a professional wrestler, actor and manager. During his prestigious wrestling career, Albano helped 15 different tag teams, and 4 singles, to championships.

After his wrestling success Albano began to transition over to television and film projects. During the 1980's you could see him featured on Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, Miami Vice, Wise Guys, Hey Dude and 227... to name a few. In 1989 Albano took on the role of Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

    I am a fan of WWF/E for over 22 years now and love everything about pro wrestling. I can remember as a very small child as Lou managed some of the greates (HEEL) groups of pro wrestling and also his fued with Cyndy Lauper… RIP Captain Lou Albano you will be sadly missed but NEVER EVER FORGOTTEN.

    Will always remember the Captain! He was a great entertainer and actor. My Mother, Sylvia Rocha, from Mt. Vernon NY, used to tell us great stories about him. Well my Mom has passed in 2003, I guess they are having a great time now. Thank you Captain for all of your great works, and will miss you. RIP!!

    RIP Capt. Lou, thank you for all of your great work in the field of entertainment. My Mother, Sylvia T. Rocha, used to babysit for him when he was a young kid in Mt. Vernon. She used to tell us some funny stories about him. My Mom has passed too, in 2003. I guess the are now laughing again. Thank you Capt. Lou and bless your soul, you will be missed tremendously.
