Death Summary: Kermit Ernest Hollingshead Love died of congestive heart failure in Poughkeepsie, New York on June 21, 2008. He is survived by Christopher Lyall, his partner of fifty years.

Who was Kermit Love : Love was a puppeteer, costume designer, and an actor in children’s television and on Broadway. He is most famous four being a designer and builder with the Muppets, in particular on Sesame Street.

Love had experience dealing with full-body puppets and tailoring them to allow the performer to have freedom for movement. This led to him developing costume for Big Bird for Jim Henson. He would go on to create Mr. Snuffleupagus, and the giant Thig for The Great Santa Claus Switch.

Love remained active in Sesame Street throughout his life; he became one of the key supervisors and Muppet consultant. He also played a character by the name of Willy the Hot Dog Vendor.
