In 1990 Hayes donated his collection of photographs, scripts, letters and clippings from his Hollywood career to Dartmouth College, where he taught in the film studies program.

He remained friends with our parents Bill & Irene Hayes over the years. They visited him & Mel in Maine with Aunt Nellie (Ellen).Shirley has met when they were very young, Rochelle and Garrett, We have always been very proud of John (Bud) as we called him.
