Jimmy Hoffa

Born: 1913-02-14 - Died: 1975-07-30
Cause of Death:
Unknown

Death Summary: Disappeared on July 30, 1975. Declared "presumed dead in 1982". There is a rumor he's buried under the field where the New York Giants play football.

Who was Jimmy Hoffa : He became president of the Teamsters Union, (truckers) in 1957 and served until 1964, when he was convicted of jury tampering and was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He was released in 1971 thanks to a presidential pardon by Richard Nixon, apparently in exchange for illegal campaign contributions. Upon release he attempted to return as head of the Teamsters Union until his disappearance, in 1975.
Hoffa was investigated repeatedly for corruption and racketeering by John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. There are indications that Hoffa and his mob connections had a hand in the Kennedy assassination.
When he disappeared in 1975 he was due to testify before the "House select committee on assassinations".

  9. Wanda Kenney Says:

I saw how unions progressed the American workers plight however I also have watched since Mr. Hoffa’s death the ridiculous Union perks that have hurt the industry. If the over garnering of “perks” were watched I would welcome another Mr. Hoffa to help workers plight. I actually found he did so much for the American worker and no matter what he was accused of and maybe did as long as he could cover those retirement $$ I find that the “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” attitude worked. Since Hoffa’s “death” it seems workers don’t understand the word work or the term a company man.

  10. Kevin Smith Says:
