Death Summary: Dean died in his home in Varina, Virginia of natural causes.
Who was Jimmy Dean : Jimmy Dean was born in Plainview, Texas, in 1928. Dean is mostly famous as a country music singer, and the original creator of the Jimmy Dean sausage brand. He dropped out of school in the ninth grade, and toured as an entertainer for the U.S Air Force during the 40's. In the 50's Dean would appear in different variety shows, most notably The Morning Show on CBS.
Jimmy Dean's musical career was propped up by two big hits, 'Bummin' Around' in 1953 and his most famous 'Big Bad John' in 1961. The latter would eventually become #1 on the Billboard charts. It would sell over one million copies, earning Dean a ceremonial gold disc.
Later into the 60's, Jimmy Dean received his own variety show 'The Jimmy Dean Show' which would last him a few years. He used the show to help promote various country music singers to the mainstream, including: George Jones, Roger Miller, Charlie Rich, and more.
Along with his music, Jimmy Dean found success in the sausage business. In 1969, he launched the Jimmy Dean Sausage Company along with his brother Don. The company did well through marketing, as Jimmy Dean was the company's spokesperson and performed in all the commercials. The company would eventually be sold to the Sara Lee corporation in 1984, though Dean was kept on many years in a managerial role. He would also continue appearing in commercials, until 2004 when Sara Lee decided to take the brand in another direction.
On February 23, 2010 Jimmy Dean was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and was to receive a ceremony later in the year. Upon his death, Jimmy Dean is survived by his wife Donna and three children - Garry, Connie, and Robert.

A Great Guy and Singer He Sure Will Be Missed
I grew up listening to Jimmy’s hit song Big John, and I remembered, watching his TV show! I miss you, Jimmy!
He always spoke his mind ! I respected that …
It seems like just yesterday Jimmy and I were comparing our sausages in his office. My sausage was not as long as his but was wider. We often stood face to face and held our sausages side by side. He would get soooo mad when i touched his. He would say we are just comparing not to touch. Then we would taste each others sausages. Jimmy loved that most he would pop it in and out of his mouth and tell me it was to salty. Sometimes I would slap his sausagge on my lips before i tried it. Delicious I would scream, more more. Then he would blast big john and we would pretend to be miners trapped below. He loved to undress to play this the mine is hot he would scream. the only way to get oxygen was to put your mouth on each others anuses and break wind. once he tried to toot very hard and passed out but not before pooping in my face. oh how we laughed about that one. we took photos and showed the ggrandkids. they vomited and cried when they saw the pictures. his youngest screamed why grampy why did you poop in the mans face like that. jimmy just laughed and held the little ones face to his bum and farted. yeee haaa he yelled that outta learn em some. thn the oldest grandchild said leave heralone and jimmy being jimmy through hot bacon grease in the oldest ones face. she was yelping in pain as the skin dripped off her skull. jimmy just laughed and laughed. what a great man of mystery he was. i will miss his sausage parties most.
Loved his music, grew up with his songs. My father was AF and lived all over the globe so his music would go with us as well. Loved Big John and to this day will play that song. His food were great as well. He knew how to cook! May he rest in peace.

RIP. Thanks for the delicious sausage.
His continuing ‘Good Ole Boy’ visage and just plain good manners will be missed. Performers of today would do well to learn of his personal greatness as the way to be popular and well-loved by all. Having grown up with him he was a wonderful role model and good man.
