Jimi Heselden

Born: 1948 - Died: 2010-09-26
Cause of Death:
Segway accident

Death Summary: Drove a X2 Adventure Segway off a cliff

Who was Jimi Heselden : Jimi Heselden lead a very interesting life that saw him go from a humble miner all the way to him sitting at the 395th richest man in the world. Heselden was born in Leeds South of West Yorkshire, and remained a part of the community until his death.

Heselden's story begins with him as a miner, which he worked at until the 1984-85 strike which left him without a job. Using the geological and other sciences he learned while on the job, he began developing concertainer units for the military.

The technology he developed came to replace outdated tech, and before long his defense contracts made him a multi-millionare. He used this money to develop Hesco Bastion, and his company became a huge success.

In late 2009, his company eventually bought out Segway. Heselden's success led him to being known as a very generous philanthropist. He was reported to have donated $15 million of his wealth to the local economy and charities.

Heselden met an ironic death on September 26th when he rode one of the company's segways off a cliff on his estate. The police didn't suspect any foul play at the scene
