Healey at actually defeated cancer once before after losing his eyes to it, but after nearly 38 years, he developed Sarcoma (a supportive tissue cancer) which ended up killing him.

He formed his first band when he was seventeen and rocked out in his trademark guitar-across-the-lap style for many years, eventually being discovered by Stevie Ray Vaughn and earning several hits such as "Angel Eyes" and the Grammy-nominated "Hideaway".
Action movie fans will always remember him as Cody, the musician friend of Patrick Swayze's Dalton in the 80s action slugfest Roadhouse.
