Who was Jackie Cooper : Cooper was a producer, television director, and actor. He's probably best known for his role of The Daily Planet newspaper editor, Perry White, in the 1978 Superman film.

Some of his other acting work includes M*A*S*H and White Shadow, which both roles earned him Emmy awards.

Cooper also holds the distinction of being the youngest performer to have been nominated for an Academy Award, for Best Actor in a Leading role.

    It is a sad day for me as I did not know that Jackie had died. He did it all so very well in film, from acting, directing and producing, from MASH,Superman to the Little Rascals, I will miss him very much, he was always fun to watch act at any age.
