Death Summary: Bogart was only 57 when he died. He had long been a heavy smoker, and he got esophagus cancer, which led to the removal of not only his esophagus, but two lymph nodes and a rib as well. He weighed just 80 pounds when he died.

While he was sick, he was frequently visited by Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy who saw him the night before his death. His last words were allegedly, "I should never have switched from Scotch to martinis".

He was cremated, and then his remains were buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California.

Who was Humphrey Bogart : Humphrey DeForest Bogart was an American actor best known for his performance in the classic film Casablanca. He won one academy award for The African Queen, and was married to actress Laruen Bacall with who he starred in Key Largo.

Other notable films that starred "Bogie", are The Big Sleep, and The Maltese Falcon. Bogart has been considered a cultural icon throughout time (for example providing inspiration to a character on the cartoon "Shirt Tales", and he was ranked as the greatest males star by the American Film Institute.
