Death Summary: Brown died at the age of 90, after a short hospitalization, according to magazine publisher Hearst. The exact cause was not revealed.

Who was Helen Gurley Brown : Helen Gurley Brown was the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine for 32 years. She was also an author. Her book Sex and the Single Girl was published in 1962, and became a best-seller.

She became editor-in-chief at Cosmo in 1965, saving the magazine from failing. She held the role until 1997, when she was ousted, and replaced by Bonnie Fuller. She still stayed with Hearst publishing, and remained in the role of international editor for nearly 60 international editions of Cosmo until her death.

Gurley Brown got the Brown from movie producer David Brown, who she married in 1959. He produced films like The Sting, Jaws, Cocoon and Driving Miss Daisy.
