Death Summary: It was actually bronchial pneumonia combined with cardiorespiratory arrest that took Peck's life at the age of 87.

He died in his sleep at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, California with his wife by his bedside.

He was buried in a mausoleum in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in LA.

Who was Gregory Peck : Gregory Peck was an American actor and won an Academy Award in 1962 for his portrayal of Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, which was based on the book by Harper Lee. He was also honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, an award that had once been won by E.B. White.

Other notable films for Peck included Moby Dick, Pork Chop Hill, The Guns of Navarone, the original Cape Fear (opposite Robert Mitchum), How the West Was Won, and The Omen.
