I grew up like many Americans watching movies of Gregory Peck,John Wayne, James Stewart. They were great actors and made you feel safe.Like we feel when our dads are home. I’m glad that life gave the choice of becoming a great actor. He will be missed and remembered by all.

I am 73 now but have always been in love ,since I was a little wee girl,with the handsomest man in the world since I ever saw him on the big screen. He was the epitamy of the perfect male,in my eyes. What I admired most in his personality was his lifelong loyalty to his wife and family. A very rare attribute then and now.

You were one of a very fine group of actors who moved me so much through your portraits of other humans, real or fictional. Atticus Finch is my favorites, followed closely by Captain Ahab. Both were such strong men who were not willing to surrender to man or nature.
