Who was Fred Shuttlesworth : Fred Shuttlesworth was a civil rights activist who lead the charge against segregation and other forms of racism as a minister in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rev. Ralph Abernathy from Montgomery, Rev. Joseph Lowery from Mobile, Alabama, Rev. T.J. Jemison from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rev. C.K. Steele from Tallahassee, Florida, Rev. A.L.Davis from New Orleans, Louisiana, Bayard Rustin and Ella Baker.
Shuttlesworth was referred to as "the man most feared by Southern racists". He was noted has surviving bombings, beatings, jail sentences, and other various attacks.
He worked to alleviate some of the problems of the homeless in Cincinnati, Ohio where he took up a pastorate in 1961. He retired back to Birmingham in 2007.

so sorry to hear of your passing there is not enough taught in school about blacks people in history that really made a difference.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of this great, bold, courageous, intelligent Black Warrior. This man put his life on the line numerous times to gain many of the freedoms we take for granrtted. It’s a shame that we don’t have more strong Black men like this today. I will continue the struggle for our brother and all of those that fought so hard for our Human Rights. May Allah be pleased with hsi soul!
