I loved you kindness, and your gentle laugh. You brought me happiness during the tought times in my childhood. I will never forget the love expressed in your character of Herman Munster. the world is a better place because of your tallents.
This man really caught my attention in “My Cousin Vinnie”. I just realized that he had pancreatic cancer, the disease which took my lovely bride’s live back in Nov. 2008. Merissa Tormei reminds me much of my wife and could attract attention with her brilliant comments as well.
sadly mist Herman RIP
There will never be another actor as good as Fred Gwynne. I have Idolized him for almost 40 years
I really liked this actor, especially when he actually got a chance to prove his mettle as a serious actor in his later years. He was a tremendously unforgettable actor.
You bring fun, good memories on me as Herman Munster that I never get tired to watch and a great performance on Pet Sementary you were a great actor always.
The Munsters was the best show on television in 1964 and 1965 for a very good reason…..Herman and Grandpa! Fred Gwynn and Al Lewis were great friends and their comradarie on the Munsters rivals Gleason and Carney, Abbott and Costello and Laurel and Hardy. Fred Gwynn was the only one who could play Herman with the depth of character and boyish soulful innocence. Truly this man was ahead of his time when it came to good comedy and who can watch the Munsters today without laughing at Herman’s laugh and innocent childish antics. Seeing him wearing the Clean your plate club bib on or hearing him wonder if Lily will smash his Huckleberry Hound records makes one laugh at this monster with the childlike charm. Rest in Peace Fred……you were one of the best and I will always cherish the Munsters and the laughs you gave us!
I always love Fred because he looked like my grandpa, then my family told me Fred was family cousin to my grandpa Evan Norman Gwynne both great men! I love you Fred for more then your TV talent.
