Who was Frank Gansz : Gansz was a football coach whose career spanned nearly 40 years.
Early in his career Gansz held several assistant coaching positions at Oklahoma State, Colgate University, Southern Methodist University, Army, UCLA, United States Air Force Academy and this alma mater, the United States Naval Academy.
In 1986 he became special teams coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Following season he took over the head-coaching job after John Mackovic was fired. He was fired after just two seasons after amassing a 8 – 22 – 1 record, he was succeeded by Marty Schottenheimer.
Gansz was the special teams coach of the 1999 St. Lois Rams that defeated the Tennessee Titans to win Super Bowl XXXIV.
