Death Summary: Farrah Fawcett died after a long hard battle with cancer.
Ryan O'Neal, Fawcett's longtime companion, released the following statement...
“After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."
Who was Farrah Fawcett : Fawcett was an actress and a pop culture icon. At the height of her career, she was a sex symbol to millions of young men and a fashion icon for young women… most notably being her famed hairstyle.
Fawcett began her career doing commercials in the late 19060s and early 1970s for Wella Balsam Shampoo. Around the same time a poster company, Pro Arts Inc., got in touch with Fawcett’s agent to discuss a possible poster. Bruce McBroom was hired to take the poolside photos of Fawcett, he used an old worn-out Indian blanket as a backdrop… to their surprise, the poster would go on to become one of the best selling posters of all time at around 12 million copies. (You can see the image at the top of this page).
In the late 1970s Fawcett got a role on the new television show entitled Charlie’s Angels. The show was about three women who work for a private investigation agency ran by Charles Townsend and his liaison Bosley. The first episode of Charlie’s Angels aired on September 22, 1976 and became an instant sensation, but Fawcett left the show after just one season.
Fawcett was married to Lee Majors, star of The Six Million Dollar Man, from 1973 – 1982. During her relationship with Majors, she was known as Farrah Fawcett-Majors. Shortly after their divorce in 1982, Fawcett became romantically linked with actor Ryan O’Neal.
Along with her television career Fawcett also appeared in quite a few theatrical films…

God gave this woman beauty and wellness for a long time. She was a great person. But her best contribution to the public was the brave battle she fight for her life. She fight to the final and leave us with the learning that life is precious and no matter what you done in her final days she was a fighter. God bless her, and give to his love ones the strenght to continue apreciate life like she done in her honor.
I used to live not far from her and her parents in Texas. She was a beautiful, sweet, and soft spoken lady then even while goimg through her break-up with Lee Majors. I was and am happy that she had Ryan and Redmon in her life. I know they and her father will continue to miss her .And her fans will too .But I’m glad that her mom was there to greet her because that was a very special moment between them. So Ryan, take comfort in the fact that she has her mom, friends and family and our Lord and Saviour there with her,Try to concentrate on helping Your son to be the man that you and Farrah know that he can be. You have have my respect, honor, and many thoughts and prayers.
To the family of Farrah: You have my sympathy and condolences. May God bless all of you during this diffucult time.
