A wonderful woman has been call home to Jesuse. RIP
I loved when she sang ” he ain’t got no washboard in dems cotton bails” and the other little known hit ” if I sees it’s den i knows it be trues”. These were beautiful spirituals only put on a few records. You Tube has them on there if you want a listen.
Although I did not know Ms. James personally, I was a fan of her music. It is certainly evident by that she was well-loved and had a warm & wonderful spirit. We have all felt the agony of losing a loved one in death. To the Family: Please accept my deepest condolences in your time of sorrow. I just wanted to share some thoughts that have been a comfort for me and my family during times such as these: At John 11:25, Jesus told Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” Shortly after speaking those words, Jesus resurrected her brother Lazarus back to life right here on earth. Very soon God’s Kingdom (Matthew 6:10) will permanently remove death, resurrect our loved ones, and restore all of our bodies back to their original perfect state. May the future promise of seeing Etta again sustain you during the difficult days ahead. Most truly, Tori
Tori you are still a retard.

Etta, You are the Goddess incarnate…your love and soul will live forever. I remember seeing you sing at the El Rey theater in Albuquerque…I stood in front and was awestruck by your presence, your power, your beauty, your great interpretive voice…you made every song your own. You are one of the great gifts given to us….
My deepest sympathy is with the family. The bible at John 5:28,29 promises that one day all those in God’s memory will be resurrected.
