Elizabeth Bathory is a very interesting woman in history and had a very tragic life. She is not to be hated or loved. Not only was she cruel and psychotic, she was a very good ruler ans extremely intelligent was known to help women. Her story is tragic because as a young child she witnessed the savage murder and raping of her sisters by the invading Turks. She also also witnessed the execution of the Turk leader where they slowly cooked the leader and then forced the soldiers who were captured eat the flesh of their leader. She is merely a product of her environment and was of course taught to believe that women are evil and if they are not put in line by men they will resort to evil ways. Her story just makes me sad.
