Death Summary: Edna Parker died at a nursing home in Indiana, on November 26, 2008, at the age of 115 years, 220 days old. She was buried in Shelbyville’s Miller Cemetery.

Who was Edna Parker : Parker was a supercentenarian, and the oldest living person in the world at 115 years, 220 days old. She obtained the title of oldest living person on August 13, 2007.

Parker enjoyed poetry, and reading the daily newspaper. She loved receiving cards from well-wishers, and sent out autographs to anyone who asked for one. On her 114th birthday she received a very special present from President George W. Bush, a letter thanking her for sharing her knowledge “with younger generations”.

She is listed as one of the 15 “longest living people ever”.
