Parker enjoyed poetry, and reading the daily newspaper. She loved receiving cards from well-wishers, and sent out autographs to anyone who asked for one. On her 114th birthday she received a very special present from President George W. Bush, a letter thanking her for sharing her knowledge “with younger generations”.
She is listed as one of the 15 “longest living people ever”.

Too bad the News Media didn’t take advantage of your years here and have a nightly segment with “Edna’s advice and memories”. You should have been appreciated more while here. I’m sorry.
