Death Summary: Dunn died in his sleep following a double show at the Blue Note night club in Tokyo. He was in the country as part of an ongoing tour with Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper.

Who was Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn : Dunn was a bass guitarist, song writer, and record producer. He is probably best known for his stint with Booker T. & the M.G.'s. During his career he played with the likes of The Blues Brothers, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Albert King, Levon Helm, Neil Young, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Guy Sebastian, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, Roy Buchanan and Arthur Conley.

    I never had the pleasure of meeting “Duck”, but when I started playing bass, I always wanted to play his style…been playing now for about 45 years and still love it when the band I’m currently in strikes up ‘Time is Tight”. Rest in peace Mr. Bass Man, as you will not be forgotten.
