Death Summary: Don Knotts died at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California from pulmonary and respiratory complications stemming from lung cancer.

He had been undergoing treatment for his disease in recent months.

Life-long friend, and former co-star, Andy Griffith stopped by to see Knotts just hours before he passed. At the time of his passing Knotts wife and daughter were at his side.

Who was Don Knotts : Knotts is best known for being Barney Fife on the 1960's television show The Andy Griffith Show. Knotts won 5 Emmy's for his portrayal of Fife. He also played Ralph Furley on Three's Company (which also featured the late John Ritter).
