Death Summary: Wallace was 46 years old when his wife found him hanging as she got home on a Friday night. His death was ruled a suicide, but it is unclear whether or not he left a note.

There was a memorial service planned at Pomona College.

Who was David Foster Wallace : David Foster Wallace was an American writer who wrote novels, essays, and short stories. His most well known works include the novel Infinite Jest, which was hailed by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Best English-Language Novels, quite an accomplishment.

He also wrote the novel The Broom of the System, short story collections: Girl with Curious Hair, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, and Oblivion: Stories.

Wallace wrote a number of Nonfiction books as well such as: Signifying Rappers: Rap and Race in the Urban Present (coauthored with Mark Costello), A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, Up, Simba!, Everything and More, and Consider the Lobster.

He also taught creative writing classes at Pomona College.
