The group, whose name is an amalgam of their nicknames, spent more weeks in the UK Singles Chart than The Beatles between 1965 and 1969.
Recently Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich had their song “Hold Tight” featured in Quentin Tarantino’s segment (Death Proof) of the 2007 film Grindhouse. A character in the movie also explains how Pete Townshend almost quit The Who to join the group.

i was 15 in 1967, working for the NZ promoter who toured them. great guy, awesome frontman, our group played many of their hits too. so sad they never cracked the usa.
