Death Summary: Dave Dee had suffered from prostate cancer since early 2001. He finally succumbed to his illness in Kingston Hospital, South West London on January 9, 2009.

Who was Dave Dee : Dee was a songwriter and singer, who was the frontman for Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.

The group, whose name is an amalgam of their nicknames, spent more weeks in the UK Singles Chart than The Beatles between 1965 and 1969.

Recently Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich had their song “Hold Tight” featured in Quentin Tarantino’s segment (Death Proof) of the 2007 film Grindhouse. A character in the movie also explains how Pete Townshend almost quit The Who to join the group.
