Darrent Williams

Death Summary: After attending a New Year's Eve party at a bar in Denver, Colorado, Williams was shot while in his rented Hummer Limo in a drive-by shooting. The Broncos had only finished their last game of the season earlier that night.
A bullet hit the back of his neck killing him instantly, and sending his body into the lap of teammate Javon Walker who was riding with him. Two other passengers were injured, but released from the hospital a short time later.
There had apparently been a gang-related scuffle at the club where Williams had been earlier, but he had not been involved.
Who was Darrent Williams : Darrent Demarcus Williams was still a young player in the NFL when his life was taken. He had only been drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2005 after a good run at Oklahoma State Univerity. He played as a starting cornerback for the Broncos. Williams was also the CEO of RYNO Entertainment, an independent record label in Ft. Worth, Texas.

A federal court document says an inmate told authorities that on the night Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was killed, another inmate had traded trucks with a man considered a person of interest in the death. Advertisement It is unclear from the document whether that vehicle was the one that carried Williams' killers when the fatal shots were fired.
