Death Summary: Earnhardt was killed when his car slammed into a wall at 150mph during the Daytona 500 race.
There were rumors that he had not been wearing his seatbelt properly, and evidence of a torn belt. This led to the founder of the seatbelt manufacturer resigning from his company that supplied belts to nearly all of NASCAR.

Yesterday, I thought of Dale and how much Nascar has changed in 8 yrs. And i almost Don’t want to watch nascar anymore due to you not being there and all these New Rules (not the safety rules) Then Harvick win’s from nowhere, then Dale Jr show’s it’s not nice to block an Earnhardt. I really miss you in Nascar and May God Bless your Family and Friend’s.

I watched the race the day you went to heven and still to this day it stays fresh in my mind,but I know your at every race right by Jr’s side and just like all of your fans we stay true to you and your son Jr. always a faithful fan.
Dale was one of the best ever.I have watched him race ever since I was a child. He will forever be missed.
