Christopher Stevens was a diplomat and lawyer from Northern California. Stevens was most well-known for serving as the United States Ambassador to Libya.
Prior to Stevens' recent ambassadorship to Libya, he taught English in Morocco during his service with the Peace Corps, and earned his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of California.
Stevens has also worked in Libya before prior to being its most recent U.S. Ambassador. He was Deputy Chief of Mission (2007-2009), and Special Representative to the National Transitional Council (2011) as well.
