He loved horses, wether dressage, cross-country or show jumping events. In 1995 in such an event his horse balked and he landed head first, breaking his vertebrae, which caused him to be paralyzed from the neck down. After his accident he began to work towards a cure for spinal injury for himself and for everyone else. Amazingly he did recover some sensation in parts of his body. He continued his struggle with his dissability until his death in 2004

I still miss seeing Christopher Reeve on television or in the news. He appeared to
be a very nice person whose talent was very
special. I was sad the day I heard he died.
I truly was hoping for a miracle in spinal
cord injuries and that Christopher would walk
again.
