Christie Allen

Born: 1954-09-12 - Died: 2008-08-12
Cause of Death:
Pancreatic Cancer

Death Summary: Christie Allen died in her home from pancreatic cancer on August 12, 2008. She had only been diagnosed five months earlier.

Who was Christie Allen : Allen was popular pop singer from Australia, though she was born in England.

She saw a quick rise to fame when record producer and songwriter Terry Britten (same guy who wrote "What’s Love Got To Do With It" for Tina Turner) discovered her.

She had three singles from he debut album “Magic Rhythm”. The first was a ballad entitled “Falling In Love With Only You”, it reached the top 20 in 1979. Her next two songs had a definite disco vibe to them; they were “He’s My Number One, and “Goosebumps”.

She went on to release one more album in 1980, but it was only mildly successful. She retired from the business soon after.

She attempted a comeback in the 1990s, doing a few concerts and televised events.

My sincere condolences to Christie’s family – it must’ve been a very difficult time for all of you and probably still is, so take care of each other.

I remember you from back in the late ’70’s, Christie – a little girl with a big voice, to which i think disco music didn’t do full justice.

    Rest in peace.
