Death Summary: Chris Kyle and another man, Chad Littlefield, were reportedly at a shooting range when a man named Eddie Ray Routh shot and killed them. The New York Times reports:
"The police said Mr. Routh opened fire on the two men at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, then fled in a Ford pickup truck. At about 8 p.m., Mr. Routh arrived at his home in Lancaster, about 17 miles southeast of Dallas. Police arrested him after a brief pursuit and took him to the Lancaster Police Department."
The motive was not immediately clear.
Who was Chris Kyle : Chris Kyle was a U.S. Navy SEAL, and is said to have been the most lethal sniper in United States military history, with 160 confirmed kills (out of 255 claimed kills). He served from 1999 to 2009.
Kyle wrote a best-selling book about his experiences called American Sniper.
