Braden Keil

Born: 1956-01-01 - Died: 2009-03-10
Cause of Death:
Complications from Melanoma

Death Summary: Braden Keil died at the age of 53 from complications stemming from melanoma. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Who was Braden Keil : Keil was an infamous “scoop artist” in the real-estate industry for the New York Post. Keil wrote a weekly column entitled Gimme Shelter.

He also worked as a gossip reporter for The Washington Times and even ran for congress in the late 80’s.

Back in 2007 Keil wrote a column that broke the news about Bon Jovi’s new swanky NYC “trophy penthouse”. The thing that was surprising about it was he knew about the deal even before the broker did. Keil was able to find out everything about the deal without any help.

  2. Trish Rankin Says:

Dear Jennifer, just missed a call from your Dad….we have not talked in months & months…the voice mail he left me was the worst. I am so, so terribly sorry for your loss. Your Dad often talked about Braden and what a wonderful son-in-law he had. He was on his way to the airport to go there, so I couldn’t call him back and the wonderful world of internet allowed me to find this page.

My thoughts are with you Jennifer. Take care,
Trish Rankin (your Dad’s long time friend with lots of past names)

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Brad. I grew up down the block from Brad and he was always such a gentleman. He will be missed! Love ya Herb Noelle
