Death Summary: Bob Welch died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. He was found in his Nashville home by his wife, who also found a suicide note.
Who was Bob Welch : Bob Welch was a guitarist and vocalist who played with the American band Fleetwood Mac in their early years. He lived in Paris as a young man and studied French before coming back to the U.S., where he met up with the other band members in the early '70s. They recorded five albums together before Welch left to pursue a solo career; he went on to success in the late '70s and early '80s with hits such as "Ebony Eyes".
Welch died on June 7th, 2012 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest at the age of 66. He reportedly suffered health problems in recent years but it is not known whether they contributed to his suicide.
