He married fellow student Ann Dunham (who was pregnant with his child) in Maui, Hawaii on February 21, 1961. Obama failed to inform his new bride that he was still married at the time of their marriage.
Dunham gave birth to Barack Obama II on August 4, 1961, she left school shortly after to take care of her new baby.
After graduating from the University of Hawaii Obama was offered a scholarship to New York University, he declined it, as he preferred Harvard.
Dunham filed for divorce in Honolulu in January 1964, Obama did not contest. After the divorce, he just saw young Barack once more in 1971.
