Who was Andy Irons : Andy Irons is a world renowned professional surfer. He learned his trade by surfing on the reefs of the north shore in Kauai, Hawaii. In total, Irons earned three world championships, three Quiksilver Pro France titles, and two Rip Curl Pro Search titles.
Andy's younger brother Bruce is also a well respected surfer. In fact, Andy had lost to Bruce on a few occasions before his stint on the World Championship tour. Because of Iron's success in surfing, the governor of Hawaii declared February 13th as 'Andy Irons Day'.
Andy married his wife Lyndie Dupuis in 2007, and at the time of his death she was seven months pregnant with their first child. If you visit Huntington Beach, California you'll find him in the Surfing Walk of Fame.
